Richard Gate
Richard Gate was born in Brisbane in 1933 and educated in Canberra, New York and the University of Melbourne and Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand. He entered the Department of External Affairs in 1956 and retired in 1993. He lives in Canberra and is now a community radio broadcaster. His publications include Politics, Diplomacy and Islam: Four case studies (jointly), From Coup to Coup and articles on music, art and current affairs in Australian and English publications.
