Michael Smith

Michael Smith SJ is originally from New Zealand. He joined the Australian Province of the Society of Jesus in 1976 and was ordained a priest in 1984. He has a Master of Arts (in Pastoral Counselling) from Loyola University, Chicago and a Doctor of Education in Counselling and Human Services from La Trobe University, Melbourne. His doctoral dissertation was on the personal spirituality of men at mid-life.

Michael is currently the International Education Coordinator for Jesuit Refugee Service and is based in Rome.
