James Franklin

James Franklin is the author of Catholic Values and Australian Realities, The Real Archbishop Mannix from the Source, Life to the Full: Rights and Social Justice in Australia, The Science of Conjecture: Evidence and Probability Before Pascal, Corrupting the Youth, A History of Philosophy in Australia, What Science Knows... An Aristotelian Realist Philosophy of Mathematics appeared in 2014.  

He gained a PhD in algebra from the University of Warwick in 1982 and has taught at UNSW since then.

His research interests include the philosophy of mathematics, the history of ideas (especially probability) and extreme risk theory.
