Carolyn Noble

Carolyn is the Foundation Professor of Social Work and Head of School of Social Work as well as Professor Emerita at Victoria University, Melbourne. She has been an academic since 1984, and mental health and child protection practitioner before that in Sydney and London. She has taught and developed undergraduate and postgraduate programs in social work, counselling and psychotherapy, social science, mental health and professional supervision. She is active in Australian, Asia Pacific and International Schools of Social Work Associations and has held executive positions in each of these organisations. 

Her research interests include social work philosophy and ethics, work-based learning and professional supervision and theory and practice development in social work. Further areas of research include gender democracy and equal employment opportunity for women in higher education and human services. She has published widely in her areas of research and continues to present her work nationally and internationally.
